Despite how frustrating the political nature of this country is, I am happy to no longer be driving a Mitsubishi Pajero through the streets of Amman, Jordan. If you think your city has bad drivers, I’d love to one-up you anytime. Good to be home, for sure!
One of the first things I did was take the Porsche out for some mountain fun, really the first chance I’ve had to really test it out. I really love this car. Didn’t think I would like it after the Viper, but I just needed some twisties. It sure can make you feel confident.
Thank God for Bug and Tar Remover!

I really enjoyed it for the most part. Very hospitable people and Middle Eastern food is by far my favorite of all types of food. Also got to do a little but of traveling to Israel and around Jordan. Don’t really have the desire to go back, but it was a good assignment for a few months.

Try living in Saudi. When I was younger in Riyadh the local hospital was getting too small for it’s use. So they relocated it to an accident blackspot which was a crossroads in the city.
It was well known that you took your life in your hands as most believed if you died in a car accident it was allah’s will. So people ignored traffic lights and rules of the road.
Thankfully when we ever left the base we went in a five Land Cruiser convoy and people seemed to give us room.
